Season of Lent

The word Lent comes from an old English word for spring: “lengthen,” when the days grow longer. For over 1400 years the Christian Church has set aside the 40 days (not including Sundays) between Ash Wednesday and Easter as a time of repentance and renewal.  God calls to mankind: Return to the Lord! The journey begins with Ash Wednesday’s warning of mortality and culminates at the Service of Holy Baptism in the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday.

Sunday Lenten Services

"Open Door Policies"
On Ash Wednesday and during our Sunday services this year, we hear about the surprising strategies our Heavenly Father uses for getting sinners back home, close to him and the loving care he offers, as he keeps his door open for us.

Midweek Lenten Services

"The Passion History of Our Lord"
During our midweek services this year - held on Wednesdays - we will follow the order of Evening Prayer and hear a portion of the Passion History of our Lord Jesus Christ according to the Gospel of St. Luke.
